OUR CLIENT REQUIRES:
You will be our client's first full-time HR Director and take over a team of 30 staff. Some are sitting at the head office in Bangkok and some are at the factory in Eastern Seaboard.

Our client's HR organisation could easily be referred to as the personnel department; if you are old enough, you know that this was what HR was called in the past.

We are now in 2017, our client operates a large operation in Thailand, the region and overseas. There is an increasing need to take a step back before taking two or three leaps forward. We need you to modernise the HR department, we want you to work with human resources management and development. This business is all about people.

You may know the management term MBWA, management-by-walking-around; it's essential that you are outgoing and that you like to meet and talk to people.

You will see just below, under roles and responsibilities, that we are looking for great interpersonal skills, social competence, maturity, trust worthiness, patience and a good listener, and add to that leadership skills to lead and manage your own team.

Role and responsibilities:
Strategic HR Planning

  • You are a member of the management team, accountable for establishing and leading a people and organisation strategy to ensure achievement of business objectives. Develop and deploy strategies and tactics. Establish metrics for HR processes.

  • Business Partnering

  • You must be proactive, innovative and with your team provide customer-oriented HR solutions that are relevant to the accomplishment of the client's objectives.

  • Resource Planning

  • Forecasting people requirements to support business strategic objectives. Includes succession planning, leadership development, long and short-term staffing plans. Build on the talent base needed to match the growth strategy in the business.

  • Human Resource Process Development

  • Ensure effective and efficient delivery of HR processes including performance management, talent management, staffing, total compensation, training & development, and employee engagement.

  • Qualifications:

  • Current HR development experience built on a traditional HR management background, with some 15 years HR experience. You are now leading a large HR department that services an office in Bangkok and a factory in Eastern Seaboard.
  • Experience in general affairs: payroll, payroll and payroll; employment contract management, annual health check-ups;
  • Expert in Thai employment laws and compensation/benefit models, health & safety, training, and payroll;
  • Proven hands-on experience and a track record of creating organisational development, policies and routines including an effective appraisal and KPI system;
  • Enjoy management-by-walking-around; building relationships will be your second nature.
  • Great interpersonal skills, social competence, maturity, trust worthiness, patience and a good listener. And add to that leadership skills to lead and manage your own team.
  • Good English in speaking and writing.
  • Thai national.
